A.F. GENESE Technology: Scientific Excellence at the Heart of Movement

A.F. GENESE technology is not merely an innovation; it is the result of rigorous scientific research aimed at decoding the complex mechanisms of neuromuscular regulation. At the intersection of cell biology, neurosciences, and physics, it forms the foundation of all our development programs.

A.F. GENESE innovation is based on a precise neurophysiological principle: each type of sensory receptor in the neuromuscular system has its own resonant frequency, at which its sensitivity is maximal and its discharge threshold minimal. Neuromuscular spindles (intrafusal structures), responsible for dynamic proprioception and maintaining postural tone, exhibit a spontaneous discharge frequency between 15 and 30 Hz, with an optimal functional range around 25 Hz. It is precisely within this window that the low-β band is located, a cortico-spinal synchronization frequency associated with active postural maintenance, and the frequency at which the human motor cortex naturally oscillates during sustained tonic contractions.

Our innovation delivers a pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) of 25 Hz that acts through vibrational resonance on Ia afferents, lowering their detection threshold and restoring medullary reciprocal inhibition without directly recruiting α motoneurons.

Worn on the wrist as a bracelet, our innovation generates a non-thermal electromagnetic field penetrating up to two centimeters into tissues, sufficient to reach peripheral target structures, without skin intervention or direct contact. Its use is compatible with ongoing drug treatments and integrates into the patient’s daily life without constraints of duration or posture.

Experimental validation through ENMG (Electroneuromyography) measurements in Parkinson’s patients forms the foundation upon which A.F. GENESE builds its clinical demonstration. Developed in close collaboration with INSERM, this innovation is protected by a co-owned patent (FR3158241), with an ongoing international PCT application, guaranteeing its innovative nature and technological maturity.
